Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and CodeFormer.io ("we", "us"). They take effect on October 20, 2026. By using the website or its services, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use CodeFormer.io.

You must be at least 16 years old to use CodeFormer.io. If you use it for a business, you confirm that you're allowed to accept these terms on that business's behalf.

What CodeFormer.io does

CodeFormer.io uses AI to restore old and damaged photos. It sharpens blurry faces, reduces scratches, creases and fading, and can bring back natural color. It works in your web browser, so there's nothing to install. A restoration usually takes 1 to 3 minutes.

We may improve, change or remove features over time. If we remove something you've paid for, we'll give you a fair remedy, such as a refund of unused credits.

We are independent

CodeFormer.io is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or run by the CodeFormer authors, S-Lab or Nanyang Technological University.

We use the name "CodeFormer" to describe the topic of this site. The official CodeFormer code is published by its authors on GitHub.

Free use and accounts

• Without an account, you can restore 1 photo a day for free. With a free account, you also get 2 credits a day, enough for one more photo at standard size.
• Free photos come at standard size, include color, and have no watermark.
• Free limits start fresh every day at midnight UTC. Free daily credits expire at the end of the day they're given and don't carry over.
• Each try, retries included, uses one free daily photo or its credits.
• One person, one free allowance. Free daily credits go to one account per network per day (for example, one home internet connection). Using several accounts, scripts or other tricks to get around the limits isn't allowed.
• If you create an account, keep your login details safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

Your photos

You keep ownership. Photos you upload stay yours. So do the restored results.

You give us permission to process them. You allow us to store, copy and process your photos only to provide the service to you. For example, we send them to our AI image-processing provider for restoration, and we save the result. This permission ends when you delete the photos.

You need the right to upload them. Only upload photos you own or have the right to use. Photos from your own family collection are fine. Don't upload photos you don't have permission to use.

Personal use and commercial use. Photos restored without a paid credit pack or plan are for personal use only, such as family albums, gifts and memorials. Commercial use, for example selling prints, restoring photos for customers or using them in advertising, needs a paid credit pack or plan.

A note inside each restored file. Every restored file carries a small note in its metadata (the hidden information inside an image file) saying it was edited with AI.

Acceptable use

You may not use CodeFormer.io to:

• Upload photos you don't have the right to use.
• Upload anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
• Upload sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualizes minors. We report it to the authorities.
• Upload intimate or sexual images of anyone without their consent.
• Deceive people with a restored photo, for example by passing it off as an unedited historical record or as evidence, or by using it to impersonate someone.
• Harass, threaten or defame anyone.
• Get around the free limits, security or payments, for example with several accounts, scripts or bots.
• Break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or resell it through automated access without our written permission.

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, without a refund where the breach is serious.

About AI results

AI restoration is an estimate, not an exact copy of the past. Please keep in mind:

• The AI can add or change details, including small facial features, textures, clothing and colors. Colors added to black-and-white photos are the AI's best guess.
• Heavily damaged photos, or faces that are very small, blurred or missing, may give poor results.
• Results aren't suitable as legal, medical, forensic or historical evidence.
• Always keep your original photo. Don't throw it away because you have a restored copy.

Credits, plans and payment

• Restorations beyond the free allowance use credits. The number of credits each option costs is shown before you start.
• A paid credit pack or plan adds 2K and 4K output and commercial use. What each one includes is described on the pricing page at the time you buy.
• Credits from packs and plans don't expire.
• Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account settings. After you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
• Payments are made on a secure Stripe checkout page. Prices already include applicable taxes (such as EU VAT), so the amount shown at checkout is the total you pay.
• If a restoration fails on our side, the credits or the free photo it used are returned automatically.
• We may change prices for future purchases or renewals. We'll tell subscribers before a price change applies to them.

Refunds

You can get a full refund if both of these are true:

1. You ask within 7 days of the purchase, and
2. You've used less than 10% of the credits from that purchase.

This applies to one-time credit packs and to each plan payment. To ask for a refund, email support@codeformer.io from your account email with your order details. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, and the related credits are removed.

Outside these conditions, payments aren't refundable, except where the law in your country says otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Our content and name

The CodeFormer.io website, design, text and software belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy them without permission. This doesn't cover your photos or your results, which remain yours.

Ending your use

You can stop using CodeFormer.io at any time. To close your account, email support@codeformer.io from your account email.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if your account is used for fraud or abuse. If we close an account without a serious breach on your part, we'll refund any unused paid credits.

Disclaimers

We work hard to keep CodeFormer.io running and producing good results, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or give a particular result for a particular photo.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or emotional distress, arising from your use of CodeFormer.io. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 USD if you haven't paid us anything.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we'll tell signed-in users before the change takes effect. If you keep using CodeFormer.io after that, the new terms apply.
